Windows computer shuts down when USB device is plugged in
Computer not reading USB ports unless restarted - Windows 7
Correct me if my understanding is wrong. Did this solve your problem? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. I unknowingly let Chromium into my computer. I can hear the computer "ding" when the drive is inserted, but there is NO recognition point and no reference to being able to use it. I have used the Cortina and no advice.
Some users may face a problem where their computer shuts down or restarts whenever they plug in a USB device. There could be many reasons that may cause it — like USB ports touching each other, issues with the motherboard, issues with drivers, a fault with the basic hardware, and so on. While it is tough to conclude on the exact cause, we can troubleshoot the issue step by step isolating each possibility at every level.
When your Windows installation is corrupt or you wish to install the operating system without a disc, a bootable USB drive is a useful tool. A bootable USB allows users to boot Windows directly from the device. But before that can happen, you'll need to tinker with your machine's BIOS settings. Turn your computer off. Turn it back on.
